Hello, my name is Chris. I'm a 24-year-old dude from NJ living in NYC. I enjoy psychology, neuroscience, herpetology, botany, music, and art (in no particular order). my artwork |
I learned yesterday that you can plant pineapples simply by twisting off the crown and planting it! I had to try it out immediately. I bought a pineapple at the grocery store, twisted off the bundle of leaves at the top, sliced away any remaining fruit, and peeled back a few layers of leaves. This revealed a cluster of root primorida (the little bumps in the second photo). After it dried a bit overnight, I set the crown in a glass with just enough water to touch the roots. Hopefully this will bring about some root growth! I’ve read that you can just toss the crown in some damp, well-draining soil, but it’s always more fun to watch the roots grow in water. I’ll post updates as it starts to grow.
This is a tiny button taken from a grafted cactus like this one. Hopefully it will eventually put out some roots, but probably not for a few months. It is currently sitting on some dry succulent/citrus potting mix on a shelf away from direct sunlight.
This is so tight. I should have a new collage piece up soon.

Now this is what I’m talking about. I’m considering a nude/pinup girl for mine.
I just moved into a new room in NYC, and I want to do a stencil piece on my wall. I have a space that is 50” wide and 100” tall.
Any suggestions?
Not mine, but really awesome collage work.

Recent collage piece. The cut pieces were taken from an old environmental textbook. The rest is drawn in pen and marker. Reminds me of synapses and neural networks.
